What it doesn't do: Can only forward to your own Apple devices signed into the same Apple ID. Can't forward to email, Telegram, Android, or other people's phones.
3. Third-party SMS forwarding (e.g. Re:Text)
What it does: Routes carrier SMS from your iPhone to any external destination — email, Telegram, WhatsApp, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Google Chat, Mattermost, another phone number (any Apple ID or Android), or any custom webhook or API.
Where to enable: Install a forwarder like Re:Text and configure destinations.
What it doesn't do: Doesn't sync iMessage — that's iMessage sync's job. Doesn't work on iOS devices that can't receive SMS.
